New stadium sponsorship deal

Postby TerracingTomas » Sun Jul 24, 2022 11:12 am

So the signs are that along with becoming a director of the club, Steve McCallions’ company ZLX is about to become the new stadium sponsors. But what happened to Foys’ 5 year deal. You may well ask. In 2019 it was announced that Accies or rather Mcgoofeys stadium company had handed the naming rights of the stadium to Foys, a medical regenerative company The deal was for 5 years till 2024 and worth £750k.

We were told
“Foy’s wellness clinic premises will also be built on ground at Hamilton Accies, creating up to 20 new jobs in the area.”

“In addition to this the new sponsors Foy’s, who are part of WSA Holdings Ltd, have also consented to build a new TV gantry and architects have to be engaged in the near future.”

Unbelievably, their plans also include the building of a new research and wellness centre at the stadium. This will replace the lapsed consent for the 21 residential houses initially planned and could also create up to 20 jobs for the local area.”

So what did we get? Unbelievably no clinic ever emerged, no new tv gantry, and no new media centre that Marcus was boasting about. in fact the only income that appears to have come the stadium companies way is the rental for 2 offices in the stadium which over nearly 3 years comes no where near 750k.

No doubt we will be told ZLX’S deal is worth 6 figures blah blah but as usual it’s all smoke and mirrors and we will never know how much the naming rights have been given away for. I’ll be interested to see if McCallions’ company ends up renting office space at the stadium. Like Foys that’s maybe the only money that comes our way and not to the club but the stadium company.

You’re talking about FOYS LTD, a company only producing one set of accounts @April 2020 which showed an insolvent position of £78720.
Their accounts @ April 2021 are already overdue with an attempt to have the company struck off twice since 2020. As recently as 05 July 2022, an objection to suspend the strike-off has been lodged at Companies House. No reasons given.

WSA Wellness Ltd appear to ‘own’ FOYS LTD. Their accounts are also overdue! That’s a dormant company with a capital of £20! Can find nothing about WSA HOLDINGS LTD whose name also is mentioned at Companies House.

From all of that factual recorded information it’s extremely unlikely that FOYS LTD could have produced sponsorship monies of £750K to whatever company Accies looked to feed then and since.

And here we have another new sponsorship deal from ZLX worth ?? Once again, not holding my breath on any meaningful developments.

So it’s now official Fireball XL5 are the new stadium sponsors. No mention of Foys whose sponsorship deal had another 2 years to go and as we were told was worth £750k. At just over 33k a year this seems cheap but look on the bright side we might actually get the cash and they don’t appear to be part of an international drugs cartel laundering milllions through make believe drink companies

“It’s another £36,000 a year, says McGowan, which will be invested in first team and thats a lot of money. Well maybe if you are near bottom of the league 2. That amount is simply peanuts to any Championsip side. You would be lucky to buy 1 below avarage player with that

I dont suppose there will ever be another fans forum with McCgowan in attendance where the points raised by TT and Porcupine coulbe put to him. Maybe the guys could interview him on the Accies TV channel

Oh he will be in attendance!! Floating about the room like he was at the Q and A with big Marko and the last fans forum. Making sure nobody says anything negative towards him or his dodgy sponsorship deals or his “charities”. If he’s not on the panel to answer our questions he shouldn’t be there.

Can’t see Mcgoofey answering questions about the Nero Vodka deal whether it’s a forum or a direct interview given there is an ongoing criminal investigation into Nero and money laundering. When asked about the deal a stadium spokesman said and I quote the Record-

It is our understanding that the product was not as successful as first hoped and sponsorship was cancelled with payments ceased.

For payments to cease they must have started in the first place so the stadium company would appear to have received some monies. According to the press stories I’ve read, the National Crime Agency are leading on this in the UK. I would assume they would want to interview whoever arranged this deal to understand how it came about and how much money was received which might well be the proceeds of crime. :?:

This YouTube video explains the links between the Irish and Scottish drug cartels including Nero Vodka. At 2.41 into it they use the now infamous photo of Nero’s John Morrisey at NDP alongside you know who. It’s frightening stuff.

There is a post on the Accies thread on Pie and Bovril. it contains a link to a spoof site that attacks Zlx and its owner. Someone mightily pissed of at zlx? Hope it’s without foundation as otherwise we can add this sponsor to a long list.

Interesting article in the times today about the claiming of tax back for allegedly carrying out R andD.

Industry insiders fear that the incentives are being brought into disrepute by “aggressive” advisers who encourage business owners to make questionable claims. There is no suggestion that advisers named in this article are defrauding the schemes or knowingly misleading HMRC.

Remind me again what our new stadium sponsors do :?:
