Accies crowds for this season

Postby smc4761 » Wed Aug 04, 2021 6:45 pm

I have had a look at the average attendances for clubs in the Championship, for the last full season 2019/2020. I think this season we will be lucky to have a "crowd " of 1000+, especially if season goes as I fully expect it to go unless there is massive change,-- and thats not going to happen. We will probably be the worst supported team in league.

Killie I would expect to have crowds of 4000+

Dunfermline 4152
Partick 2699
Inverness 2117
Raith 1905, this is from league 1
Ayr 1778
Morton 1607
Arbroath 1462
Queen of South 1396

Another excuse for McGowan and co, to use. And what do they do to encourage fans. Hee Haw

I was shocked to see an Arbroath fan on Pie and Bovril say that had sold 800 season tickets. We only sold 549 in 19/20. The last time we sold over 800 was when they were priced £130 then £150.

Are those figures inclusive of away fans SMC? The season we won promotion via the play offs 2013/14 our average attendance including away fans was 1436 so it’s a fair bet that we aren’t going to beat that. I’m assuming season ticket sales were higher then as well. If your figures include away fans then we could be bottom of the league attendance wise!

Yes it appears to be inclusive of away fans. I used this site for my figure which is 40 different from the average attendance you get on your site. But the difference is peanuts. Either way it’s not looking good for this season.

For me this has been the biggest failure of the current regime.Namely the failure to grow the support during lengthy spells in the top League.

In addition,we chased away many of our young fans with the draconian policies towards Section A while away fans could do what we like.

The current ASA and to be fair, the Board are trying to rebuild relationships but,as ever, this will fail unless we have a competitive team on the park.

This is a big month. We need to see decent signings to rekindle the interest of our lapsed fans.

A continued decline will be catastrophic as eventually we would end up in The Seaside Leagues with a part-time club in front of 500 home fans max.

To be fair to them, reducing the adult season tickets to £150 then £180 was an amazing deal but even then they couldn't get it right because those were the prices for the concessions too. As many of us said at the time, £200 & £100 would have been fairer and still incredible value. Life in the Premier was always going to be a slog so the thought of stumping up £300+ in the summer was never going to be that appealing.

The take up levels were always going to drop when the prices went back up and now prices are still quite high, there is uncertainty about the team on the park plus folk have got out of the habit of going. But most clubs are in the same boat, how are we so far behind Arbroath? Maitland and ASA seem to be working on better ticket arrangements but all that should have been sorted out months ago. Accies being in the dark ages is putting fans off, as if they needed another reason.

700 home fans on Saturday, a lot more than I expected, pity could not win and build on it.
With restrictions lifted and Killie starting well, I would expect them to sell out away end gazebo at our next game.

There were quite a number of people who were turned away on Saturday who turned up to either buy a ticket or pay in.

It was sad to see them leaving the surrounds of the stadium and football clubs need to realise not everyone is Online or has a Smartphone.

Hopefully, going forward there will be an option for people to buy a ticket on match days.

They need to tell us this week what the arrangements are for the Killie game? Will it be 5000, 2000 or are they sticking to 1000? Hopefully the new SLO will tell us!!!

Good luck with that one.

Killie played 2 won 2 and with our home record does not bode well. If we lose McMann and that will almost certainly happen, we are really going to struggle and I dont fancy our chances. Our defence is worse than shocking, raith could have and should have taken at least another 3 from us. Fair do's did well to pull it back, but that was just papering over the cracks

We may play lovely passing tippy tappy football, but dont think that is what is required for this division
