Raith v Accies

Postby Bluesy » Sun Jul 25, 2021 12:15 am

Ok so we forget about yet another cup run.

Anyone have any idea if we’ll be offered tickets for next week’s game?

If not I may have to be creative because no way I want to miss this game.

There is discussion in relation to this under the match thread on Pie and Bovril Bluesy. Basically the Raith fans don’t know. One suggestion we might get a 100 tickets as they had some away fans at league cup games. I suspect it may be Raith tv for this one.

We are in the small stand backing onto the railway track Porcupine which is where we were for the pre season friendly back in 2019?

Match day and like the Edinburgh City game I’m really looking forward to it. Always enjoy an away day partly because over the last few seasons we seem to have had some of our better performances away. And a sell out away support so that’s something. Raith must be favourites. They managed a play off spot last season and I think fancy their chances via the play offs this season. They have gone full time and spent on the stadium including new lights, seating etc. Yes they lost a few from the squad but they have recruited some experience including Keatings and Berra. No new signings for us hardly a surprise but Temps and Mcmann on the bench. A sap to the fans IMO. If they make an appearance it will be 15 minutes max. I go 2 - 0 for Raith but hope to eat my words.

Cannae wait!

Really looking forward to it today. Need to make a decent noise and give the players a boost. So sad about Odoffin however it is great to see Templeton and McMann back in the squad.

With a squad so lightweight in terms of numbers and appearance, this season is going to be a long one. Hope i am wrong but 2-0 Raith

Accies taking things to a new level now. The new idea seems to give the opposition a 4 goal start, before we decide to turn up

Seriously 4-0 down with 23 minutes to go then rescue a point. WTAF

At what odds, SC??

At 4 nil down we were dead and buried until Templeton, McMann & Ryan came on and changed the game. Temps made the first two goals without a doubt.

Game of the season!!!

Watched the live stream from home and turned it off after going 4-0 down. Spent the rest of the afternoon in a grump until my son Darren messaged me with "what a game". Roll on next week!

When the subs came on we started to play football on the deck. The 3 that came on also brought the best out of Lewis Smith. A great day out

Well what to make of that? For 60 minutes or so Accies proved everything the majority of fans have been saying across social media. The Directors’ failure to fund recruitment and continuing with Rice, Rice as a manager/coach, his tactics, his team lineups and the squad itself from too many young inexperienced players to persistence with players who even dropping down a division are not good enough e.g Moyo, Stirling etc. And yet Rice’s substitutions pulled a rabbit out of the hat. Ryan supplied the cross for Macdonalds’ first and scored a cracker of a second and Temps crossed for Macdonalds’ second. But I think Temps picked up a knock and wouldn’t be surprised if he’s out again. Surely the Board have to sign some experience? Ronnie and Maitland were there today. Will they just focus on the last third of the game and say see you fans know nothing run along and leave it to us or will they man up and invest in the squad and give us a real chance?

Sad about the bunch of morons and idiots whose foul mouthed invective throughout the first half might have been seen to be representing our Club. Fortunately most left at four nil down to buy more fuel for their bile against just about everything, and in doing so, gave the rest of us peace to enjoy the fight-back and four great goals to draw the game.

Why normal Accies fans should have to put up with all that at away games this season is the question. Stewards ignored it all, of course, and even though there will be replies about free speech, human rights, don't come if you are offended, etc. etc. I have serious doubts as to whether I'd want to bring my grandkids to games where this is apparently acceptable.

Will it be the norm at NDP this season?? Discuss!
