Pretty fair assessment Tumbleweed. Given Oakley looks like a good signing I think Brian has an eye for a player so if he he using his time to look for potential signings for next season whatever league we are in good on him. This seasons signings while initally looking good turned out to be overall disappointing with one or 2 exceptions so anything that prepares the ground for what will be a pretty major squad overhaul again is positive IMO.

Great summary Tumbleweed and it's spot-on. The points gained since BR arrived are the best comparison for any doubters. With hardly any season left on appointment we increased our points by 50%. OK, goal difference has not improved, but we were always likely to be hammered by an on-form Sevco team, and possibly suspect refereeing with it being on TV.

Like last two posts, I beleive we are in a far, far stronger situation now, than we would have been with MC. Doubters need to have faith and allow our manager to really see the strenghts and weaknesses in the squad. It is not telling that Dougie Imrie has not figured in our starting line-ups>

To say we are stronger without Canning is like saying Bears shit in the Woods.
Rice could turn out to have a mediocre record after X amount of games, and chances are it'll still be better than the Jumpers.
His win to games ratio after only 6 games is already better.

We really need to get back on track after a bit of a disaster last week.

McGowan from the start and I would revert to Killa and Ziggy with Sowah.

Miller and Andreu both had an off day at Fir Park however I wouldn't contemplate dropping either of them or indeed Oakley who didn't have much service.

So Martin, McKinnon and Gogic filling the other midfield slots? Miller in midfield and Keatings up front? Tough calls.

I hope Brian has spied some decent midfielders on his travels round the grounds as it is obvious that we need two or even three quality additions in that area.

Your patter is pish Prick of Lanarkshire.
Anyway, back on topic ,a 4-5-1 is the way to go against Jambos.
Plenty of width and pace out wide as they didn't look too clever at the back in the 2 Thistle Cup games.
Oakley up top ,or Davies if fit.

FINALLY- nerves started. With St Mirren off and Dundee not getting beaten until tomorrow it's a good chance to pull ahead. Think we might need our big unpronounceable defender to nullify their big unpronounceable striker.

This place has been dead since last Saturday

Well done to BR and the team. We seem to be on a bit of a rollercoaster, either play crap or play well, no middle ground.

3 wins so far, compared to the jumper cant argue with that, and against fairly decent teams, Hearts, Aberdeen and St Johnstone and only conceded 1 goal. Where would we be if the board had grown a pair and got shot of the jumper much earlier

In the first half I think it took us about 15 minutes to get going and then we had the better of it and were worthy of our lead at half time courtesy of a well struck goal from McGowan Second half we sat back too much for my liking but to be honest Hearts are rank rotten. Defensively we looked much more comfortable with McGowan back at right back and Ziggy in central defence. Midfield still not contributing enough and up front Oakley had a quiet game and Miller seemed to keep pulling out of tackles. Not his best performance. Highlight of the match Dougie coming on at 90 minutes to great applause for his 500th appearance and immediately miskicking the ball leaving Rice covering his face with his hands.

What a great result. Congrats to everyone involved. Hope Celtic win by 5 against Dundee tomorrow and swing the goal difference back in our favour. :D

Superb three points. We were never out of Hearts faces, and closed them down time and time again. AJ's goal was the icing on the cake.
Either AJ or Martin could have been MOTM. Tony looked a Championshio player today, and off the pace. Miller ran tirelessly all over, and did not shirk a tackle. Hearts had one real opportunity and Gogic cleard off the line.

A great team performance, lads. Well Done to all & to BR for the correct set-up at the start.

Great to get one up on that knob Levein also..
That should give us the shot in the arm needed just prior to the split.
As a previous poster stated a big Celtic win tomorrow would be excellent.
However any Celtic win will do for starters.

Terrific result and the performance was so much better, more aggressive and self-confident than last week. We seemed to have a bit of belief that we could turn them over, were in their faces all game and as poor and negative as Hearts were, we dominated most of the game and an excellent finish from AJ was a special way to win it. Everyone did their jobs and there was a much improved performance from #22 with his free kicks actually being a danger to Hearts rather than a goal kick to Hearts. BR was spot on with his selection and subs and if we can get a bit of consistency in performances then we will be fine. Lovely way to spend a freezing Saturday afternoon :D
On the outskirts of nowhere, on the ring road to somewhere, on the verge of indecision, I'll always take the roundabout way.
