In the reports online and in newspaper about the signing of new Greek defender they all say defender crisis, mentioning Jesus out for the season with knee injury and canning out for two months(not that canning being injured matters as is nowhere near on par with rest of defenders fitness wise).

As of tonight Tuesday, still nothing on Accies Official Website. it REALLY is a total disgrace compared to amatuer clubs, far less a Premier League outfit. I remember Ronnie saying at the last meeting that the person they employed was dragged onto Performance Analysis work of our team from these vest things that they wear inderneath their strips, but in this day and age, IMO it would be better if there was NO official site, rather than the pathetic lack of attempts to give fans ANY up to date information on their team.

Appreciate that this post might have strayed slightly off subject, but are we not entitled to know why one of our defenders is injured, and for how long estimated, before we recruit others?

keeper Gary Woods signed from Leyton Orient. Alan Martin away then?

Martin said he would be off if someone else signed so that appears likely. Woods played for Ross County last year and played 12 games including the League Cup final - so as far as we are concerned this looks like a step up from Martin and is very much 'conventional' in the manner we have been asking for.

Poor guy, I questioned why martin didn't get to play in the cup games last year for us and prove himself. He's never gonna get the nod up here, he should move elsewhere and hope to become a starter again.

The Accies Twitter feed tweeted a couple of days ago that Jesus had an appointment with a specialist to confirm the extent of they damage, they then tweeted that they didn't expect good news, they then put a story on the official website confirming that he was out for the rest of the season (I assume after the specialist had confirmed the damage). Not sure what more they could do Porcupine?

The Accies don't communicate mantra is a recurring theme but perhaps people are looking in the wrong places for their info. The website is slow to be updated (not sure why they felt the need to spend money on a new website) but the Accies Twitter is excellent with numerous updates per day, photos from pre-season, updates from U20 games etc...

In the age of social media now and again news will get out before it can be officially announced but again I'm not sure what can be done when someone bumps into Donatti while he's signing up or that the stadium has Superseal getting painted all over it before the sponsor is ready to announce it to the media.

This isn't peoples imaginations. From people not getting queries answered , to the lack of information for fans, the official club website/twitter page is usually the last to know.

I posted my query on 25th July about Jesus's injury. The Accies Official site's message was not posted until 27th July By that time it was known to many, if not me. I am of an age that I don't 'do' Twitter, but I have now taken to look through the Twitter feed on the site for any snippets of news.

We are all agreed that for many years under different owners, Accies communication is still utterly pathetic, and is not conducive to building up any new support for the Club. Slow communication, or downright incompetence, is unforgivable in this modern world of 'instant' messaging. Those of us, not resident in Hamilton and therefore not buying the Hamilton Advertiser, rely on web-site information to keep up up to date with what is happening, if we are not on Twitter. Accies support has always been long suffering, small in number, but loyal. Many of us travel significant distances to support the team at home, as well as away games, but this seems irrelevant to those in charge at NDP.

EXAMPLE
For all new season ticket purchasers, I hope that they find their seat without too much bother at the first home game where season tickets kick-in. The stand steps have all been repainted, (great) but last Saturday there were NO LETTERS on any of the steps on our section. Pearhaps, this has been completed in the last week. And, "Reserved"stickers (on seats not now Reserved) just will add to confusion, and ideally should be removed at the end of each season. Another lack of professionalism.

On the subject of season tickets, i purchased mine a few days ago and the girl said that the only section left was along at the Sainsburys end. I'm not sure how far along i actually am but it appears we might have sold rather a lot of season tickets which is good news.

Heard some figures during the week that we have managed to sell over 3500 season tickets this year which is outstanding IMO. Anyway back to some transfer rumours, Gary Harkins has been spotted at NDP twice this week and isn't in Dundee's squad photo ? Potential recruit? If so, what are our thoughts?

Doubt that as the main stand only holds 3200 or thereabouts.

As a striker or right back?

Good player but I think we more urgently need different players.

Harkins would be a cracking signing , proven top-flight player , Harkins and Crawford in front of Donatti would be as good as any midfield in the bottom six .

Maybe Harkins is trying to give up the drugs.

Was he not let go by Dundee, him and the we fat greasy one did not see eye to eye.

Both McGregor and Breslin went off injured for the U20s today. McGregor looked to be more serious, he walked off but in a bit of pain from an ankle knock.

Finding a right back has got to be a priority.

Would Mark Wilson be a viable option.

Hes only 32, hes got experience in the league. Got to be a better option than Gillespie.

Played for Dumbarton at the end of last season, so probably would not break the bank!

Gary Harkins is due to sign in the coming days apparently
