I could be wrong but I got the impression that Matthews had been in training with us prior to the Ayr game so he wasn't going in totally new to everybody however, I was expecting Martin to play and it does seem to be a real slap in the face for him.

Donati has apparently signed this afternoon in a record deal. Great experience for the youngsters if true.

Are you that happy you've posted it three times? :D

If true, I hope it works out for him and that he's given longer than the usual 15 minutes before being labelled pish

Donati deal is true and will be confirmed to everyone tomorrow or Wednesday. Was at stadium for 20s match and him and his agent walked out after me being told someone was in signing just now.

Great business from Accies and hopefully the experience our youngsters need and team needs to work around him. Few more signings needed aswell tho. Best news heard in a while right enough!

We have signed Massimo Donati, who was with Celtic from 2007--2009.

At last we have a senior experienced pro who will hopefully bring on the youngsters and talk them through games

We have plenty of young talent, just need to bring a few journeymen, to help the youngsters along

Although he's a bit long in the tooth, I'm quite hopeful about Donati - the sort of player we've been missing since Alex Neil left.

When he was last in Scotland, with Celtic, we won the second tier title, so maybe he got a favourable impression of us. :D

Let's hope he can restore some order and calm (not the sort of qualities you usually associate with an Italian!)

Think this is a tremendous signing. He was an intelligent footballer with a fair bit of skill and he is coming from Bari in Seria B, so playing at a high level. well done Accies.

Re Donatti, it came from a guy on the Accies Fans twitter site that seems to be associated with the players and gets a lot right. Does seem strange I agree but he hasn't signed yet, has he? He also says we may be signing a Trinidad international forward called Richard Roy, so we'll see how accurate that is.

Told ya Donatti was coming mate ;)

Excellent signing..if only for a year. Hopefully he's match fit and ready to help craft the youngsters into premier quality players.

Hold on, Accies twitter haven't officially announced it yet! Some guy with a funny accent seems to have wandered into the stadium in an Accies shirt though and the media seem fooled.

Glad to be wrong!

Well, not you, your source was ;)

If he's match fit and able to put in a good shift, he should be a great signing. Plus being Italian he can teach some of the young boys the art of proper play acting ;D

Apparently :( With Jesus hurt, Devlin/Gillespie/Kurakins looking rotten, could do with some further additions.

Richard Roy- trinandian striker and the step father to Jason Scotland's child will be confirmed this week. Don't think he's the prolific striker we need, but will wait and see- screams out Omar diaby to me.

We definitely need improvement in most importantly the defensive positioning and also forwards still.
