Not 7 or 8, I never said that but maybe 3 or 4.

If they get us to last 16 then great and would suggest they could maybe compete against better sides. How would that be a problem?

Accies Twitter sent a photo of Massimo_Donati he looks like he would add some valuable height and physical presence in the midfield. Is he any good?

I always thought Donati was decent when with Celtic.

Good in the air and technically not the quickest over the ground.....

Would still be a good acquisition to the midfield, imo.....

Donati has been playing with Bari in Serie B in Italy and made 34 app. and scored 7 goals (all in one season) and one of which came against Juventus in the cup according to TransferMarkt. Think he would be a cracking addition to the squad as he is mainly a right back but played in a holding midfield role in Italy. Also saw on Accies' Twitter in a photo of the squad doing a training drill that there was a coloured chap who looked very muscular and in another photo there was a tall guy with a top knot hair do in front of Gillespie , anyone any ideas as to who they may be. Better not be big Salva Chamorro haha.

Igor Tarasovs, 11 caps for Latvia and played in Poland's top flight with that Jaggy wotsit lot that Ziggy turned down.

Anyone any idea how many players we actually have signed at the mo and who they are? Haven't seen anything about big Lucas resigning yet? Cheers

I wouldn't want to quote our esteemed leader, however does anyone else recall Mr Gray saying we wouldn't become a last pay cheque for ex Old Firm players?

Don't remember the 'Old Firm' addition to what he said, but, yes, that was the gist of it. No last pay days for guys who were probably 'over the hill'.

I'm sure it was at the same meeting Mr Gray said lessons had been learned from mistakes made by poor preparations in pre seasons as well. Only time will tell.

A training camp in Malaga with excellent facilities sounds like a good, professional pre season, which will hopefully set us up for a good start.

They done the same last season did they not? Euro vacation in the sun.

I think everyone's issues are IF we are to survive, we definitely need to invest in a couple of players at least, it's going to be a long season if not. Depth is definitely needed imo, especially when it comes to LB/RB and some much needed strength in midfield. Strikers, I'm not convinced Brophy/D'Acol are gonna produce 10 goals per season, willing to be proven wrong though.

But we will just use all the spare centre midfielders as full back cover as usual as I think it looks like gills or Lyon at right back as was last season for spells

Lyon is not prem quality imo. Even more so playing him in a RB position. Gillespie had some decent spells last season, he is interchangable but certainly isn't a rb, holding midfield would be good for him though.
All I really want is a couple journeymen, to help with experience and passing on knowledge to our youngsters, whilst also helping us maintain our position within this league. Instead of the euro trash gambles, investing in some wages towards experienced guys would help all.

Some proper heads gone reactions on Twitter about Ziggy signing for Partick but at end of the day if he decided he wanted to leave & his mind was made up can we complain if he ends up at team in same league?

Thistle do have money coming in from the Weirs who won over £100 millon on the Euromillions so are probably able to offer a decent whack more in wages than we can at this point.
