A new left back in the January Window

International with Latvia he may be, but Kurakins, by this stage in the season, has demonstrated to us all that he is not the answer for us.

Most of the goals we have shipped this season have come from exactly the same area, the space which Kurakins is supposed to be marking. Too often he drifts down-field, and is then left exposed with a quick counterattack, when he is way out of position. Martin MUST see this from the sidelines, or the video replays on TV.

Without an early return for Devlin, we could re-shuffle our defence as has been suggested on other posts, but with all other SPL teams having sussed Kurakins out now, we will continue to leak goals in that area if we 'persevere' with him as our regular defender.

There are bound to be contractural cost involved with him, but, IMO, the board NEED to come up with a NEW proven signing to take us through to the end of the season.

Either give McMann a chance or switch Jesus to left back.As it stands,Sendles-White deserves to keep his place, plus he is also the only defender who looks to have a bit of pace.No way,Jesus or Lucas would have got back to make that tackle on Pawlett.

A good couple of answers, here, so thanks.

Could we go back to the old fashioned 'sweeper' with SW in that role? I would keep Jesus in his defensive role as he and Lucas have formed an understanding (on most occasions!) Playing 1441 might be interetsing to see how other teams coped with that!!
It all assumes that we have a proven goal scorer as the 1 up-front, and there has been no evidence this year of that.

Not that I believe anything in the SUN, but it had Kurakins in the Team of the Week today. What are we all missing?????

Interesting, also, that James Keating is still firing in goals, where he was no allowed sufficient time with us to prove himself.

Not at game, but the highlights on Sportscene showed Kurakins almost gifting DUFC a goal with a poor passback. Match thread elsewhere suggest he has STILL not improved. Anyone know how long was his contract with us??

Has MC not mastered Latvian yet, :D amongst all the other things on his learning curve??

Kurakins was with Celtic long enough, language shouldn't be a problem - I think he's just shite.

Forgot that fact, but he was opnly with their under 20's for just over a year and spent all of it at Brechin & Stranraer. Cellick let him go back to Latvia in 2011, presumably having seen enough not to be too impressed.

Tend to agree with last poster's summary, or are we both missing something????

Oh, BYW, he is on contract with us until May 2017....YES 2017!!!
