The following is good as well:

I have been asking for a change to make a distinctive home shirt for a few years; there is historical precedence for red and white stripes rather than hoops (and also for an all red top), but it has not been that popular a suggestion).

always the hoops, can't be anything else. In my ideal world, there would be no such thing as an away strip.

I like the 1908 - 13 strip which is why its my avatar :) I wonder if for our 150th anniversary in 2024 we will wear a copy of the original strip with blue shorts and socks. Not that far away. If the Commercial Department start planning now it might just be ready for the start of the season.

Nothing more distinctive than red and white hoops. No one else in Scotland has these colours, in senior football anyway and only Doncaster Rovers use them down south and they used to play in all red. Red and white stripes are ten a penny down south. Hated the chevrons and the stupid one with the red flashes, while the oscilloscope hoops were just a mess. Thicker hoops like Doncaster are long overdue.

As for away kits, like many I'd like to see the Royal Blue and Emerald green hoops return as it messes with a lot of Scottish minds!
