Season 15/16 -Thoughts, comments & observations

Second season syndrome to be avoided and to see a settling down after the roller coaster of last season - the target is 10th

Hard to actually be particularly optimistic or pessimistic, so much depends on unknown quantities - both for us and our opponents, with some of our opponents still looking to bring players in. The new guys might be great for us and settle quickly or they could struggle to settle on and off the pitch? Be interesting to see what role Redmond plays (if any) - hardly any pre season time, plenty of talent but not physically up to it last season.

We have a core of experience from last year but not much experience in what we have brought in - so hopefully we can get the balance. We look to have a base in goals and at the back - when you play 451 the single most important player is the striker and hopefully we have found one, two or three who can do that.

Every single sports reporter in The Daily Record has us relegated this season. Be great to prove them wrong, again!

Noticed that as well......however , me thinks that the booklet was written out a wee while ago as there is only mention of two signings ....the early ones .
They also talk about the collapse in last seasons form when everything changed , but no mention of our results after the split....
We were tipped to be relegated last season before a ball was kicked , so let's get it right up them AGAIN this season !!

The bookies have us and Killie as outright candidates for relegation and if you fancy a flutter on the next manager to leave its between Locke/Mcintyre and Canning at 4/1.

The season depends on whether Martin has found his feet as a manager and the quality of our close season signings. In our last 3 year spell we slowly but surely sold the best playing assets and replaced them with largely journeymen ending up not surprisingly relegated. We have started the same process of selling with probably more to come from Mcgovern/Crawford and Gordon. The first 4/5 weeks of the season will tell how Martin is doing and how good are our signings. Fingers crossed

Not long now, we have a reasonable basis via players like McGovern, Ziggy, Ali, Dougie, devlin, Jesus - but so much depends on the link from midfield and the striker - the 22 and MAC roles; and the ability of the new guys in those positions to fit in.
