ASA meeting 11/11/25

Postby Crying Time Again 2 » Wed Sep 10, 2025 5:27 pm

Unable to attend the meeting tomorrow. Could I respectfully request someone post minutes here please?
I'm sick of the infighting and petty point scoring that P&B has descended into. It's too depressing to read.
All I care about is the future of the club, hopefully at NDP, long shot though that appears to be.
Very little information about possible takeovers/buyouts or whatever.

Mon the Accies!

I'd just like to put down in writing on this forum my thanks to those who organised the ASA Meeting last night. It takes a brave and committed bunch to put themselves as the faces of the ASA.

It was my first meeting last night and a lot was ultimately discussed. It's clear that this is early days for the ASA and I get the feeling a lot is being learned along the way. However, I want to say that the ASA will receive my support and the £10 p/m they are asking for at this stage. I hope as many fans put their faith in the ASA at this developing stage.

Ultimately but, my fear is that the ASA will continue to remain unrecognised by the club. I am hopeful that this changes (if or when) the club changes hands. I have my own reservations about this American Consortium sniffing about the club as they appear to specialise in retail and retail parks... that concerns me slightly.

The ASA need to prioritise early engagement with any new owners and build that barrier.

Another takeaway, for me, was the total lack of any authority from the current SLO. I just don't really get what this role contributes other than a simple (and often unproductive) back and forth of questions and "answers" purely in a verbatim format. Total waste of time in my opinion, the remit of the SLO needs to change to provide him with more authority to challenge answers provided on behalf of the ASA and fans as a whole.

The SLO has the invidious task of liasing between two groups who largely detest each other.

He has achieved some successes, which are to his credit, but if the Board are unwilling to explain candidly administrative relegation , relocation away from our home town, and the dismantling of our once heralded academy, I doubt that a SLO or anyone else will succeed in prizing out any further information.

The gents here appear to talk some common sense.
Why not attend a meeting of the ASA commitee on a Tuesday @ 7pm at the Bay Horse.
Wothwhile, even if a one-off.
