Aldin El-Zubaidi called up by Iraq

So we have been leaking goals in the last nine games, and we have a player, a defender, yet to get a first team start (other than on the bench), who is called up into the National Squad of Iraq. OK, Iraq are 94th on FIFA's list, but El-Zubaidi has been with us for a few years, and had a good spell at Arbroath on loan, so why are we not trying him out (along with some of our new signings), given the poor performances we have seen from McKinnon, Crawford & Routledge in recent weeks? Given the population of Iraq, somebody must have seen more in him than our current management team, to have him in their National Squad!!

Hopefully, Canning will have seen the sense to see the play from the sidelines/stand this week-end, even for a match in which RC are the form team, and blood some of our players who must be desperate for a first team game. There has been a serious lack of effort, skill and commitment from too many who seem to be played every week, regardless of their performance.

What say you??

As I have stated elsewhere on the forum, Alex Neill was the glue that held this bunch together.
Nothing is going to change that.
I only hope that the young boys are not adversely affected if they are chosen.

Having seen him in the U20s he is a big strong CH who at the moment is nowhere near good enough for the 1st team.

So what are his weaknesses? Too slow? Why would he not be worthy of a start if he has been on the bench, given Canning's need to manage, and see the current problems from the sideline's?
