Rankins latest comments.

Hamilton boss John Rankin revealed chairman Allan Maitland has stressed the club may have to wait until the last knockings of the window to bring players in.

And now another of the teams at the bottom of the league strengthen with Cove signing Scott Fox. Gonna be another disappointing window I expect.

Ellis Brown away.

I think we actually paid a small fee for him.

Offered nothing and was a crazy signing. Hadn't even played with Boreham first team if memory serves.

Striker incoming. 20 year old Dylan Stephenson from Newcastle United

https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/f ... LAWKmMj6ik

Appeared in a few pre season friendlies but I don’t think he has any first team appearances. When it comes to strikers unless we are prepared to pay big bucks which we are not beggars can’t be choosers. Wish him all the best.

If this is true then we really are fooked and more evidence that the board dont give a fuck

From the Record website

Larne closing in on Ryan
Larne are closing in on a deal for Hamilton skipper Andy Ryan.

The Northern Irish title challengers are set to sign the Accies captain for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old is set to pen an 18 month deal.

Larne are sitting in third place but if they were to win their game in hand then they would go top.

Ryan came through the ranks with Accies and his second spell is set to come to an end.

He moved from Stirling Albion in 2021.

No confirmation that Stephenson has signed by the club. Maybe I missed it. I was going to suggest we approach Barrow to get Moyo back as a replacement striker for Andy u til the end of the season but they have offloaded him already on loan to Barnet.

Oakley signed for Dougie at Morton so that rules him out although not that bothered as he did nothing at ICT.

Are Newcastle testing the water with De Bolle and Stephenson for an tie-in for Accies having say five lone players with us next season?

With a bit of luck the Sheiks are going to buy us. The only problem with that is if you own two clubs in different leagues, they both can’t play in Europe at the same time so Newcastle would have stand aside for Accies

From Lanarkshire Live

We understand the club’s moves for a defender and a striker - despite much optimism - have failed to come to fruition and they are now pursuing other targets.

Unlikely anything will be completed today now but they still want 2 players in

That’s that then :?:

So 4 in 3 out. As we know it’s not quantity but quality and being honest I didn’t expect as many as that. Given we saw 3 out and one of them Ryan who will have been on a good wage for us anyway + a small fee then we haven’t splashed any cash. It looks like a cash neutral transfer window. However so far the signs are promising. We have tightened up at the back and become difficult to score against and our results have improved over the last few games. Is it enough? Too early to say. Arbroath have made a few signings and are showing signs of improvement also. Cove on the other hand appear to have shot themselves in the foot. All Hartley appears to have done so far is piss off his existing squad by bringing in a host of new players. Looking forward, assuming we survive our January loan signings will disappear and we will be left with the same squad of young boys and senior players who saw us firmly stuck to the bottom of the league. It will require major surgery pre season but don’t hold your breath for a ‘whatever it takes’ player budget. It could well be more of the same next season.

IN

Dylan Stephenson
Dylan McGowan
Tom Sparrow
Connor Smith

OUT
Andy Ryan
Milo Virtanen
Ellis Brown

More verbage from the Manager around further transfers. Honestly he’d be better shutting up for now and focusing on results.

Michael Doyle away to Alloa until the end of the season. Might have been a character in the dressing rooms but given the state of our defence he didn’t contribute much on the field. I would imagine released at the end of the season.
