Alec Gogic on loan in January

Now, wouldn’t that be a smart move by our board? A proven combative man of steel in our midfield & who is out of favour at St Mirren.

Offer to pay half his wages and survive the drop?

Nah…. Far too adventurous. Worth a wee discussion, though?

When I saw the headline Porcupine I thought it was a definite. If only. Exactly what we need in midfield. Where’s the Ferguson money Board. Invest or else :?

Great minds think alike as I also thought this and he has experience of battling to keep us up and win a Play Off to boot.

The midfield would instantly become more combative and added to his experience,it is a no-brainer.

It would be a fantastic move however it aint gonna happen. As long as McGowan is calling the shots and he is, there will be next to no investment in club. McGowan has got to get his personal priorities correct first and the football team is way down pecking order.

Gogic is a an excellent player, despite not getting a game at Premier level, I am sure he would be snapped up by most league 1 sides, if he indicated he would go on loan. Cant see him wanting to come anywhere near a team, heading in one direction only, down.
Nearest we will get to a signing is that well known German, Jurgen Doon

So we have specific targets which is a change from we hope to sign 2 this week. They will need to be experienced, injury free and able to make an instant impact. We shall see. If we are still bottom at the end of the month this is a last chance saloon.

Might be worth looking back at those quotes on the first of February.

There’s an interview with Darian on Lanarkshire Live and I took this quote from it

Darian MacKinnon admits Hamilton Accies can’t do any more with their current squad and need help with reinforcements in the January transfer window.

If the management team are saying this then god help us.

He does go onto say,

We’re working hard to get more players in to help the ones we’ve got, and we’re confident that if we get the players in that we want, that we’ll move up the league.

“At the end of the game on Saturday we had 10 Academy graduates on the pitch. If you look at our bench recently we’ve just got loads of kids on it, and that’s not fair on them, either.

We need a magic touch to produce a miracle at this stage

Just a thought, whose identifying the targets. I thought Dave McKinnon as Director of Football was responsible or has he disappeared along with CEO and Chairman?

Rankin is the problem, he should not be getting a second chance.
3 points behind Part Time Arbroath ( and 7 goals worse off) tells you all you need to know.
We all know how the promise of new signings in window will go.

His experience of only managing youth players is showing and while Dougie Imrie has only youth team experience he has the luxury of having a more experienced assistant while we have Daz.

Every window the same pish is spouted only for us to be let down by no one wanting to come or us signing injury probe duds.
Until we offload some of these duds our wage bill will probably not facilitate decent players.

Biggest issue we are going to have this transfer window, is evereyman and his dog can see we are playing poorly, have shite crowds and lets be honest we are getting relagated. Why would any even slightly decent player want to come to that set up

Trialist in next week according to this

"I can't say what position he is for but he is a foreigner who is over here just now for us to take a look at.

"We've seen lots of footage of him, but we are now getting a close look at him."

I notice Gogic was playing against St.Mirren the other day,so that probably rules that one out.

From BBC gossip page

While Hibs have had an offer from Forest Green Rovers for Jake Doyle-Hayes, fellow midfielder Joao Balde is set to cut short his season-long loan with League 2 side East Fife, with the 21-year-old making a permanent move to a Championship club.

Could it be us?

So I take it from this that there will be players leaving to make way for incomings. Quite happy to see the whole squad go to be honest :D

Can we assume that if nobody leaves and frees up budget then no one is coming in?
