Dundee beat Queens 1-2 tonight.
And so it moves to the decider on Saturday at home to Queens. Be interesting to see how many turn up for this one

Not really a decider. We could win and still not qualify. Think only 3 best second place teams make it.

I was going to go to this, which would be my first League Cup sections match since a game v Livi that WAS a decider. But Gav is right, we could win this and still not go through if:

Ross County & Dunfermline both win at home. Pars GD will be at least +7.
Patrick and Killie win at home to lowly opposition. Very likely & they would be on 11 & 10 points respectively.
If Airdrie win at Arbroath they'll both probably qualify.
If Raith win at Aberdeen they will both qualify.
We might need to go for goals if Livingston get a big lead against Kelty.

This whole thing is a farce and I'm surprised it's lasted so long. Look at some of the crowds last night for meaningless matches - 244, 231 & 372.

Well done to Annan though, some achievement to be already through on 10 points. At least it's not just against us that they can produce a shock.

Great result for us at Easter Road tonight.

It’s now very likely (not certain) that we’ll go through if we win.

I’m actually quite enjoying it (Dens was difficult) and feeling slightly better about the team.

Did that result matter to us?

Yes it meant that another group could not have a second placed team reach 9 points

So that's the League Cup run over for yet another year. But then, it's always we hear that it's the League, and not the League Cup, that's the most important.

The lack of post match posts on here suggests a total apathy for Accies progressing in this competition.

How many fans spent a small fortune going to all four games, only to see us lose at the first possible hurdle? As I said before, it's a farce.

As for the game, we started very well then did very little for the rest of the half. A couple of near things from Ryan and Shiels. Second half they were by far the better team and deserved to win. A physical centre forward is badly needed, some creativity in midfield and a dominant centre half. Had we held on, we would have qualified instead of Livingston, whose crowd was even worse than ours, only 712.

Wasn’t there Porcupine but from posts on other sites we weren’t very good in the second half and Want appears to have been poor. Nothing on the bench to really change things around and it’s the usual. One comes on for his 15 minutes of fame and the club able to shout that they had a 16 year old on the park. Surely Rankin has too bring in a few more before the window closes?

Missed the first goal along with many others due to the big queue outside the turnstiles(it was the same at the Queens Park end).

Decent first half performance but completely overran in the second half-especially after we made the subs.

Today illustrated precisely the weakness of our squad once we change the starting eleven. We are a man down in defence after Popescu departed and likewise up front when Moyo departed.

Three minimum signings needed: centre half, central midfielder and another striker for me.

Wasn’t there either TT. Seeing family down south was more important. My mate said it was an even game, IHO.

Next week, Morton at home, so that will be a bigger tester for our young team. Suspect that money, or the lack of it, is at the root of our inability to attract quality, so we will have to graft with what we have, methinks.
