Nero Vodka

Well done the eagle eyed individual on WAH who spotted this one.

Back in 2019 Mcgowan fronted the launch of another alleged 5 figure sponsorship deal this time with Nero Vodka owned by the Morrissey’s

https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/loca ... n-21033488

Nero Vodka and John Morrisey who lives in Spain have just been sanctioned by the US Government for their association with the Kinahans’ organised crime group from Ireland. According to the US authorities, John Morrisey “has given a significant portion of the business to Daniel Kinahan to compensate for loads of drugs seized by law enforcement “

https://news.sky.com/story/us-imposes-r ... g-12588414

I assume ‘due diligence’ was undertaken before Mcgowan entered into this deal, Aye right

Now if I am Blue Triangle looking to establish a drug rehab hostel at Accies Stadium I’m sure they have done due diligence before they sign the lease.

All starting to unravel IMO

It's been one shady deal after another with this lot. They bring shame onto the club. Do Foys even still exist?

And an in depth expose carried out by the BBC last year. Frightening stuff

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/extra/1y3kad ... rld-boxing

And to quote the Irish Police Commissioner

Garda (Irish police) commissioner Drew Harris said it was "now absolutely explicit" that "if you deal with" the individuals or businesses sanctioned then "you are involved in a criminal network".

So I’m sure the Record will be asking Mcgowan for a statement today

Well they did get a quote from the club.

https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scot ... s-26696550

Apparently the deal collapsed early on as the drink wasn’t as successful as hoped but Mcgowan left all the advertising up for nearly 3 seasons in the hope that fresh sponsorship might be attracted.

Honestly who rights this stuff.

Try Googling Morton Rolls another of McGowans ‘good friendsl’ and see what you get in terms of their background.

FOYS ltd Accounts are due to be submitted to Companies House by 30th of this months following the withdrawal of thebStriking Off notice. It was an insolvent company at the only accounts shown so sponsorship monies very doubtful.

All looks very dodgy - a bit like the missing £1M. Not sure that was all above board either.

Daily Record still on the Nero Vodka case highlighting the money they claimed during covid

https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scot ... k-26729116

If I were the record I’d be looking at the links between Morton’s Rolls and our stadium company

And if I were South Lanarkshire Council/Scottish Government I’d be looking at all the firms listed as being based at NDP and were they entitled to rates relief during Covid. A lot of there companies have monies going through their accounts but don’t seem to do anything like Foys. Meanwhile many in the Hamilton community have to choose between fuel or food.

Oh look the owners of our former sponsors Nero Vodka have been arrested in Spain for money laundering. Heavens above who could have thought such a thing. Must be a horrible mistake. After all were they not attracted to sponsoring because of the so called social conscience model.

Where do we find them? Is it by association? Mind you, they never seemed to have a problem with the two James's and many other young players being represented by actual gangsters.

Mr Morrissey, identified by US authorities in April as a key aide of the Kinahan Organised Crime Gang, has been held on suspicion of money laundering at his Costa del Sol home. The police allege that his wife's Glasgow-based Nero Drinks was used as a front and she was also held although she was released after a court appearance on Wednesday.

The Accies Officialdom/Stadium Company has for years been like an episode of The Sopranos with various new "stars" appearing every so often and it has been this way for many years.

Other clubs also have had or do have "dodgy Owners/connections", but we seem to be the one where none of this rinsed money ever benefits the First Team.

There’s a big silver and black advertising sign for a vodka product on the front of Accies Main Stand to the right of the Main Door. Can someone post a picture of it, or say what the brand is?

It’s for Nero Premium Vodka, Porcupine. No attempt made to remove during the close season despite the fact the cherry picker has been in putting new signage up.

Thanks ,TT, for the confirmation that we are still advertising a sponsor from whom we apparently received no income! If this was in any other business, the sign space would have been re-sold or painted over, at least. Makes you wonder!!!

Yet another strange goings-on with the commercial side of Accies. Thought we had a new commercial board looking at all forms of income maximisation??

Of course Nero Premium Vodka may be a new company and quite legally separate from Nero Vodka. There 4351 vodka companies listed on Companies house and NOT in alphabetical order. Time alive is too precious for me to spend it searching! Any takers?

Just in case you thought Nero Vodka, a former sponsor no doubt attracted by our social conscience model, had disappeared this newspaper article tells us different

https://www.sundayworld.com/crime/irish ... 50086.html

“John Morrissey,” it said, “who outwardly serves as the Nero Drinks’ brand ambassador, is heavily invested in Nero Drinks and has given a significant portion of the business to Daniel Kinahan to compensate for loads of drugs seized by law enforcement.
