Thistle v Anxious Accies

Postby TerracingTomas » Thu Mar 17, 2022 2:29 pm

After losing to Morton last week, one or two Thistle fans on P and B see this as a must win game if they have any hope of securing 1st or 2nd or to cement a play off place. We on the other hand need a win to keep us out the mire. Hopefully the ‘anxiety’ Stan touched on last week from the Accies fans on Saturday won’t affect our players! One of my least favourite grounds in part because I will always associate with Canning’s first game in charge, a 5 - 0 defeat I think and the start of years’ of toil.

Remember that horrible 5-0 night at Firhill it was a total shambles , did Offiong not storm off the park after getting subbed?

Wouldn't surprise to me to see another shambolic performance just like that tomorrow , but then again we're Accies and could end up winning , but I doubt it.

With 7 games to go, 3 at home and 4 away I think its going to be squeaky bum time, although given the points we have thrown away this season, this should not be the case.
We need to win at least 2 of them giving us 38 points, meaning QOS need to win 4 of their 7 and Dunfermline 5 of their 8; they have only won 4 games all season

Thistle are our bogey team so cant see us getting anything from this one

It was Antoine Curier who got subbed with Brophy taking his place.

Well, thats what I get for taking the wife out on a lovely day and avoiding Firhell.
A coupon buster. How we score 4 today and can only draw with Pars last week is beyond me. However 3 points and a much improved goal difference.? Onwards and upwards

Superb. Play like that till end of the season and we’ll be fine.

When did we last score four away from home?

Well the sun shone, the fans sang, chucky got 2, Moyo scored with his feet and Winter started repaying his contract Oh and Thistle hardly bothered us. With other results going our way we really should be safe. I enjoyed that game today.

Tremendous performance today, on a pitch that was more soil than grass. What I enjoyed more than the scoreline was that every accies player out there today looked like they wanted a win. Not sticking to 2 and then time wasting and ultimately losing a goal was also an excellent thing to see.
Top marks accies.

Thistle were poor Smc but Beardy is also correct we played well and bossed the game. I wasnt at the Q of S game away where we won but that’s the first convincing performance I’ve seen from Accies this season.

Thistle did have four or five regulars out and even lost a striker in the warm up but great to see us be so ruthless. Actually I didn't see any of it so I hope the goals will be available online soon.

Great result, and I feel I should take some credit.
I was granted a free bet by LiveScore bets this afternoon and duly stuck it on Thistle…guaranteeing an Accies victory ;)
9 points above play-off/relegation spot with 6 games remaining. Should realistically be safe now, especially if we beat Queens next week.

My mate Joe cashed out taking £68 at 3-0 when he’d been on for £200. Took his cash just in time, before we got the 4th. A happy day all round.

Doesn't look like the goals are going to appear. Can understand Thistle not putting them up but every SPFL round up I've watched with Thistle at home has had action from Firhill so maybe they'll be up later in the week. Shame we can't film our away games like many other clubs.

We can't do that, it would make the club a wee bit professional

I've still not seen Ronan Hughes early goal at home versus Killie as I was late into the ground and Killie never showed that either.

It is disgraceful in this day and age that our club don't film games for fans to watch the highlights.Junior clubs and boys clubs put us to shame.

Get your priorities right, YOH!!! TT's post of Sun Mar 13, 2022 1:52 pm is far more important to the club.

Meanwhile back in the real world the CEO has secured the return of Bingo Revolution
