Kai Kennedy in on loan from Rangers. Was at the Pars but doesn’t seem to have set the grass on fire there but then they are in an even worse state than us so maybe we can get something out of him.

https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/loc ... s-25946236

Background info here. We are his 4th loan club and so far he’s managed only 3 league goals between appearances for ICT, Raith and Pars. But to be fair he’s described a winger rather than a striker.

Yet another young player? "Lightweight" seems topical just now but I couldn't possibly comment at this stage.

"You can't win anything with kids" springs to mind. Hope I'm as wrong as Hansen was

At least it's action now rather than us being left at the end of the window, with little or nothing like previous years.

Hopefully the first of a few to be offloaded.

I would have included Hughes in my list of players to be moved on but the last couple of games he’s shown a bit of form.

Rumoured to be injured and disappeared like a wisp of smoke in the wind, Luke Mathieson has reappeared and joined Scunthorpe United on loan.

Mathieson is no loss, he was absolutely shit for us, like so many of the "prospects" we sign on loan

Wolves’ media statement re Mathiesons’ move to Scunthorpe.

https://www.wolves.co.uk/news/loan-watc ... an-switch/

I particularly like this comment . “Like all our players, we want them to be in environments that are good for them and to work with coaches who have helped them previously, which is going to be the case here.”

It’s all very quiet on the transfer front but Falkirk fans on P and B reckon we have signed Calumn Morrison from them for 40k. He is a product of Hearts youth system but didn’t quite make it in the first team squad and signed by Falkirk. An attacking midfielder (Yes!)he gets mixed reviews from Falkirk fans on P and B.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Callumn_Morrison

“Morrison is worth more than £40k for me.  Yes I know he has his obvious faults, but on form he has been one of the best flair player we have had for years.”

Versus

“No end product and imo doesn’t have an obvious position. Would absolutely bite your hand off for money for him.”

I suspect he’s someone John Rankin knows so I’d be happy if this one is correct.

I remember him being very promising a few years ago and was surprised he was loaned to Stirling. Eleven goals in 34 games does suggest he has some kind of end product. I'll be a bit shocked if we spend £40k though. Plus we've just signed a winger, do we really need another?

Well we got another signing.

https://hamiltonacciesfc.co.uk/lawson-signs-for-accies/

Not sure what to make of this one. He was released by Livingston at the end of last season and as far as I can see he has been without a club since then. Described a central midfielder who can play full back.So no idea where he is going to play. :?

Stan was asked post match if the fans could expect any more signings. Response “No probably not but you never know.” Leaving the door open just a little bit ;)

All our signings so far although there is still some time before midnight. (I hope to be proved wrong and a last minute show stopper is announced  )

Daniel O'Reilly (Drogheda United)
Ellis Brown (Boreham Wood)
Kai Kennedy (Rangers, loan)
Steve Lawson (Livingston)

In terms of activity its about our usual for this time of year. Nothing to suggest we’ve splashed out other than what was probably budgeted for at the beginning of the season. Les said at the recent fans meeting that is was going to be around a 3 year project to return to the Premiership and the business we’ve done seems to supports this. Just enough in the Board’s opinion to provide the foundations and allow the youngsters to develop and presumably deliver a mid table finish this season. Credit for getting some of the business done early and O’Reilly looks a solid acquisition. I’m assuming a replacement for Easton rather than Hamilton. Lawson should also prove to be useful particularly if he plugs the right back position. Kennedy may have something about him but we will just have to see while Brown is one of our speculative punts. No serious addition to the midfield or up front although we will never know if we tried to do anything there and we’re unsuccessful. Oh and despite being linked with a dozen or so clubs in what was just a silly piece of nonsense Jamie Hamilton is still here. Perhaps any further signings were dependent on him leaving for some kind of money and part of it going on a striker etc.

I see Ayr United have again beaten us to one of our targets-namely midfielder Kerr McInroy.
It really is something when a side 7 years in the top League are being beaten to players by a club with similar crowds and who have been below us.

#Whateverittakes.

Could've been worse, we could have signed a rapist. I was going to Raith, not anymore. Hope they get a crowd of 300.

I certainly wont be giving them my money on Saturday. Nor will I use their PPV.
Despicable decision.

Starting to lose patience with Taylor and the pish he comes out with

Taylor says his side are creating plenty of chances but admits they're not taking enough of them, which was exemplified as Ayr United fought back to draw 1-1 in a game that could easily have been beyond them at the interval.

Well do something about it then. Stevie Wonder could see that we need a bloody striker and folks on here have been saying that since start of season. So what do we do, we bring in another lightweight 19 YO prospect from Borehamwood

Fan and journalist Ben McNicol has summarised his view on our transfer window here which I think fairly reflects the majority fans’ view.

Stans’ next day counter to the piece below

https://hamiltonacciesfc.co.uk/greater- ... er-window/

Stan said: “
It has been a busy window for us, one of the busiest January windows in the club’s history, all of these lads were brought in for a reason. It was important for the club that we had a better balance to our squad while improving the quality within.

It certainly not been the busiest because on average we normally bring in 3/4. Last year because of our horrendous injury list we brought in two free agents in October and added Bruce Anderson in January but all 3 came out what was set aside for the January window. As to the boards’ wonderful efforts don’t kid yourself that additional funds were found on top off what had already been set aside when the budget was prepared. Since relegation we’ve been trimming the budget understandably given the financial mess, on and off the park shedding our comms guru, the club doctor and at least 2 from the sports science dept. On the field we’ve lost all the high earners, Callachan, Temps, McCann, Odoffin and several fringe plays e.g Scully, Stanger plus bringing in fees for 2 and insurance comp. for Temps.
